Write a 12-sentence open response about following prompt: Since death is an abstract idea, it can be very hard to describe. In act 4, scene 5, the characters use figurative language to talk about what has happened to Juliet. In an organized response, explain two of the methods (i.e. metaphor, simile, personifcation, apostrophe, etc.) these characters use to talk about Juliet's death.

Read act 4, scene 1. Write a short summary of the main plot points from the scene. Since I have your journals, you can do this on a separate sheet of paper.

Read 3.5 by Friday. Tomorrow I will hand out comprehension questions on this scene, so I recommend reading at least half of it tonight so that you have time to finish reading AND answer the question tomorrow. (A4 also needs to read 3.4)
Read act 3, scene 3 and add one quote to your character tracker for each of the characters in that scene (Romeo, Friar Lawrence, and the Nurse)

Complete an open response using our checklist format that answers the Romeo and Juliet prompt.
Prompt: Juliet's reaction to news that Romeo killed Tybalt is a little surprising. In an organized response, explain how Juliet's response could be interpreted as unusual or odd.
Read act 2, scene 3. On the Friar page of your journal, add three entries, but ONLY TO THE MIDDLE COLUMN! You do not need to include direct quotes or explanations. After reading the scene, just add three entries to the middle column.
